On Jan.18 about 7:37 p.m., a man entered a liquor store in the area of West Jewell Avenue and South Oak Street.
Police say the suspect threatened the store clerk with a knife and stole the money from the register. He was last seen leaving the store on foot.
On Jan. 20 at about 8:35 p.m., a man entered a liquor store in the area of West Jewell Avenue and South Kipling Street. According to police, the suspect threatened the clerk with a handgun and stole the money from the register.
The suspect again left the area on foot but a possible related vehicle is a dark two toned Ford Explorer.
Detectives believe it is the same suspect who committed both robberies.
He is described as a white male between 5'8" and 6'2" tall. He has a medium build with sandy colored hair with a slight red tint, possibly blue or green eyes and a very short beard and mustache.
He wore a black or dark knit type cap and an older worn "pea coat" style jacket. He had a green scarf, black faded jeans, black shoes and black knit gloves.
