JEFFERSON COUNTY - Deer Creek Middle School in Jefferson County was closed on Thursday due to a problem with their HVAC system.
Smoke started to fill the school, which concered students and staff.
School officials were not able to isolate the problem, so the students were moved across the street to Stony Creek Elementary School while they try and target the issue.
Once the smoke has cleared, officials hoped kids would be allowed to go back.
However, JeffCo School is now asking parents to pick up kids if they are able to. Officials discovered the smoke was coming from a faulty breaker, which caused a power outage.
If parents are not able to pick their kids up, the students will be taken care of at Stony Creek until the normal dismissal time.
