LARIMER COUNTY - Several items were taken from a vehicle belonging to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office in the Registry Ridge neighborhood last Friday.
At 7:28 a.m. on Feb 1., police responded to a reports of multiple vehicle break-ins at the southwest corner of Trilby Road and Shields Avenue. One of those vehicles included an unmarked SUV belonging to the sheriff's office.
The vehicle was issued to a patrol sergeant who says the missing items include a portable radio, traffic spikes used to disable vehicles, a camouflage non-ballistic vest carrier with a Velcro panel that displays the word "Sheriff," a .308 caliber rifle with scope and a .223 caliber rifle.
All serial numbers and descriptions were provided to Fort Collins Police along with bulletins that were sent out to other law enforcement agencies in the region and across the state.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office is conducting an internal investigation to determine if policies and procedures pertaining to the weapons were properly followed by the sergeant.
