LOVELAND - In early February, reports surfaced that a student at a Loveland elementary school had been suspended for pretending to throw a grenade.

Recently, the school district has debunked that version of events. On Thursday, parents and students rallied outside of Mary Blair Elementary to show their support for the school.

Mary Blair Elementary received national attention for the original story.

The school district says the student was actually throwing rocks at other children on the school's playground. He was never given out of school suspension.

Those who held signs Thursday say they're proud of Mary Blair.

"I've had three kids come through this school, and they've all gotten a really good education here. "We are able to remind the community and remind the entire country that this is a great school," said Denise Montagu, a school board member who held a sign on Thursday afternoon.
