KUSA - Friends and family of a fourth grade Centennial girl recently diagnosed with cancer shaved took some rather drastic steps to show their support.

When Acacia Henkle's best friends heard about her Leukemia, they knew they wanted to do something for her.

Acacia is set to head back to class soon, and her friends didn't want her to get made fun of for losing her hair. They decided they were going to be bald as well and shave their heads.

The idea grew, and Saturday morning more than 100 people marched from Acacia's school to a hair salon where many had their hair cut off. Others donated money to her family.

Among those sporting a new, shorter look were her fourth grade teacher, the school crossing guard, a leukemia survivor and Acacia's own father.

The fundraiser collected $2,400 for the Henkle family.

Her father says Acacia faces two-and-a-half years of cancer treatments.
