KUSA - Bears have a powerful sense of smell and the aroma of a car trunk full of groceries was apparently too alluring for one Estes Park bear.
Wildlife officials say a bear climbed into the trunk of car while a woman was unloading her groceries Thursday. It happened in the 5700 block of Highway 7.
The bear got into two bags of Fritos and washed them down with a bottle of water. The bear got out of the trunk while the woman, safe inside her home, called wildlife officials.
The bear, still hungry, went back for seconds. But the woman was ready. She blew an air horn, which scared the bear away.
The bear was gone by the time wildlife officials arrived.
Wildlife officials say the bear did not cause significant damage.
