GOLDEN - A 65-year-old man pleaded guilty Friday to killing his 70-year-old wife at their home in Golden in March.
David Wayne Reathman was originally charged with one count of first-degree murder. However, that charge was dismissed Friday, when he pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder with a stipulated prison sentence of 48 years.
In March Golden Police were called to the home in Golden, to do a welfare check. A family member made the call. The police found the man's wife, Barbara Reathman, dead inside the house.
At the time, David Reathman appeared to be missing, however turned himself in to the Golden Police Department three days later.
