DENVER - Four Denver residents were charged with animal cruelty Monday.
According to a news release, Ken Rumery, Linda Rumery, Karla Rumery and Ian Nelson were charged with animal cruelty after 27 animals were rescued from a small apartment in southeast Denver on Sept. 25.
The Denver Animal Care & Control removed 22 dogs, one cat, two turtles and two hamsters from the 800-square-foot apartment. They also removed one dead puppy and three dead frogs.
The Denver Animal Shelter on West Bayaud Avenue in Denver is taking care of the animals.
