KUSA - A Boulder County deputy shot and killed a 44-year-old man during a disturbance Sunday morning.
At 8:30 a.m., deputies were called to a home in the 8300 block of 95th Street after the person who lived there said her son had locked himself in his room for several days and had made vague suicide threats.
Deputies say when they arrived the man displayed a hand gun. That's when deputies fired at the man. The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said several rounds were fired during the incident.
The man was airlifted to a hospital in Denver where he was later pronounced dead. The deputy involved was not injured.
The Boulder County Coroner's Office is now assisting in the investigation and the coroner will release the name of the decedent once they determine all family members have been notified.
