The Lamar chief of police says Eppie DeLeon tried to arrange a meeting with a 15-year-old girl with the intent of trying to have sex with her.

DeLeon, 29, faces a felony count of attempted sexual exploitation of a child, a misdemeanor count of attempted sexual assault and a misdemeanor count of attempted unlawful sexual contact.

DeLeon has been a member of Colorado's BreakEFX dance crew, a dance troupe that, according to its website, "is known for their youth outreach and K-12 involvement.... They take their love of dance and the hip-hop culture to Colorado schools with workshops, lectures and performances."

The Lamar Police Department says its investigation began a few weeks ago when it was contacted by the family of a 15-year-old who said she was receiving suggestive e-mails from DeLeon. Police officers arrested DeLeon on Saturday.

DeLeon was also a recent participant in MTV's America's Best Dance Crew Season Five.
