The Routt County Sheriff's Office says troopers with the Colorado State Patrol stopped Wall around 10:15 p.m. for failure to dim his headlights. Wall was then issued a summons and released for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, according to the sheriff's office.

Wall confirmed to the Steamboat Pilot and Today that he was pulled over and issued a summons. Wall told the newspaper that he was coming back from an annual Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association celebration, but that he did not consume anything that would have affected his ability to drive.

The Colorado State Patrol is handling the investigation. The Routt County Sheriff's Office has opened an internal affairs investigation.
