Sal Lizard does it every day. When he was in his 20s, Lizard's beard and hair turned completely white, and since then, he has embraced playing Santa with a contagious passion for the Christmas spirit.
What separates him from most Santas is his real beard and belly-full-of-jelly. He embraces the role right down to his custom-made red velvet suits.
However, instead of commuting via reindeer Lizard cruses in a bright red Chevy station wagon with "SANTA" painted on both sides, a license plate that says "SANTA," a Santa bobblehead on the dashboard and mistletoe hanging from the rearview mirror.
He also has an endless supply of candy canes on hand at all times. No matter what the calendar says, Santa Sal lives and breathes Christmas every day of the year.
Lizard plays Santa in shopping malls, professional photo studios, hospitals, community centers, and parades across the country.
He appears at public and private events and makes house-calls throughout the Christmas season, and he is a member of numerous professional Santa Claus organizations including the "Fraternal Order of Real Bearded Santas," "The Royal Order of Santa Claus," and "The National Beard Registry." He is a member of the "Screen Actors Guild," he's received acting credits in a variety of films and television series, including two big screen appearances as Santa.
