KUSA - Ghords like to gorge on water and so do pumpkins. All this rain has been a good thing in the pumpkin patches.
A pumpkin growing in a Littleton garden weighs more than 1,400 pounds. The owner, Gary Grande, doesn't want to reveal where his patch is.
He named the pumpkin "Woody" after the man who gave him the pumpkin seed. Gary says Woody the pumpkin has been putting on about 10 pounds a day. He hopes it tops 1,500 pounds when he cuts it from the vine next week.
Woody will compete September 28 at the Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off at Jared's Nursery.
