Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey says Manuel Gonzales was charged with one count of accessory to first-degree murder because police say he intentionally hindered their investigation into the October 2010 disappearance of Alicia Martinez by lying to them.
Martinez was later found murdered and dismembered.
Authorities say 25-year-old Francesca Pagliasotti was also charged as an accessory to first-degree murder in the case.
Prosecutors say that between Oct. 22 and Oct. 25, Pagliasotti helped Edward Romero, 26, conceal Martinez's murder by cleaning the crime scene and lying to police.
Prosecutors say Martinez went to a party at Romero's home in the 4100 block of Decatur Street on Oct. 22. She was reported missing and her body was later found in Romero's home on Oct. 25.
Gonzales is being held in the Denver Detention Center on a $50,000 bond. He's due in court on Jan. 20.
