"This poses a major threat," Denver FBI spokesman Dave Joly said.

Colorado Springs Sgt. Steven Noblitt says 21-year-old Ryan Edward Dougherty, 26-year-old Dylan Dougherty Stanley and 29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty were possibly spotted Tuesday in a small white vehicle with the stolen Texas license plate LCS 909. The Dougherty's had previously been seen in a white sedan.

"We don't have 100 percent identification, but it sure appears they were here with the information we have at this time," Noblitt said.

Joly said Tuesday the FBI has received "credible information" that people matching the description of three siblings connected to crimes in Florida and Georgia were spotted possibly buying camping equipment in Colorado Springs near Interstate 25 and Woodmen Road.

"We feel they may be headed to a campground or some rural area to avoid detection," Joly said.

The possible sighting north of downtown Colorado Springs was reported around 1:30 p.m.

A nationwide manhunt for the three began Aug. 2. The siblings are accused of firing more than 20 rounds at a Florida officer during a high speed police chase.
Hours later, the FBI says they the trio used automatic weapons to rob a bank in Georgia.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reported the possible sighting was called in by a customer in the parking lot of an REI store. REI spokeswoman Libby Catalinich told The Associated Press only that the company was contacted by law-enforcement officials. She declined further comment.

Sheriff Chris Nocco, of Pasco County Florida, said Ryan Dougherty sent a cryptic text message to his mother while on the run.

"He's actually texted her in the past several days saying at one point 'we all have to die,'" Nocco said. "We know they have an arsenal of weapons."
Nocco said investigators found an elaborate underground bunker at the house where the trio lived.

All three siblings have a troubled past. Ryan is a convicted sex offender, recently found guilty of sending explicit text messages to an 11-year-old girl. Lee Grace was recently charged with battery and hit and run, and posted online she "loves to shoot guys and wreck cars." Dylan has been charged with marijuana possession.

Joly said the Doughtery trio has demonstrated they are not afraid to use violence, even against a police officer.

"Don't approach these people, don't talk to them, don't engage them," Joly said. "These individuals are considered armed, dangerous, and we believe they pose a very imminent threat."

The siblings were last spotted driving a white Subaru Impreza with stolen Texas license plates. Joly said the trio has likely switched to stolen Colorado plates.
The FBI says Ryan Edward Dougherty is a white male, age 21, 5'10" in height, 180 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes.

Dylan Dougherty Stanley is a white male, age 26, 6'1" in height, 185 lbs., brown hair and blue eyes.

Lee Grace E. Dougherty is a white female, age 29, 5'4" in height, 120 lbs., brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who sees them is urged to call 911.
