VIEW TIMELINE OF TRAVIS FORBES' CASE
Forbes is accused of killing an Aurora teen and an attempted murder of a woman in Fort Collins. Forbes is expected in a Denver courtroom Monday to be formally charged with the murder of 19-year-old Kenia Monge.
Sources told 9Wants To Know earlier this month that he confessed to killing her and led police to her body. Monge disappeared in April after a night out in LoDo with friends.
Her family told 9NEWS Sunday that they will be in court Monday.
"We just really want to end this, end this as quick as possible. If it's not possible, we'll deal with that down the road," Monge's stepfather, Tony Lee, said. "All of our energy right now is going into the Kenia Monge foundation. The foundation is to promote self-awareness, self-defense to women and to also help families of the missing here locally."
Forbes is facing numerous charges in Fort Collins where he is accused of attempted murder, assault and arson.
He is expected in court for that case on Tuesday.
