'Don't Say Gay' bill passes in TN senate

If the measure becomes law it will prevent elementary and public school teachers from discussing homosexuality by limiting lessons and discussion to only include "age-appropriate natural human reproduction science".

The legislation originally contained a clause banning discussion of any sexual orientation other than heterosexuality.

Critics of the bill blasted the original version for being homophobic and insist the newly passed version is problematic as well because it could be used to prevent the teaching of morality, ethics and abstinence.
