LUDINGTON, Mich. (WZZM) - It isn't an admission of guilt, but Thursday, the father of Eric Knysz told WZZM 13 what his son told him during a visit at the Mason County Jail.
Eric Knysz is accused of killing Michigan State Trooper Paul Butterfield during a traffic stop on September 9. Last Friday, Knysz was charged with murder.
Eric's father, Jack Knysz says he had a 20 minute conversation with his son during visiting hours at the jail Sunday afternoon. Jack says Eric said he "feels very sorry" and "terrible" for what happened to the trooper.
Jack Knysz says his son did not admit to being the one responsible for the troopers death.
Eric is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the murder charge September 25.
