KUSA - Catch and Kyle, Polish Arabian horses, arrived safely at Colorado Horse Rescue on Oct. 30.

The two horses arrived safely at Colorado Horse Rescue after being rescued from a breeding facility in Maryland.

Their story began in April 2011, when they were among 133 horses that were seized and removed from a large Polish Arabian breeding facility by the HSUS and Animal Control authorities in Queen Anne's County, MD, citing severe neglect. The horses, most of them young, were in various stages of neglect. Many were emaciated with over grown hooves, and had little to no handling.

The HSUS facilitated placement of the horses to the Days End Farm Horse Rescue where they underwent medical evaluations/treatment and began their rehabilitation. After several months of rehabilitation, the HSUS selected horses most suitable for training and facilitated their placement with trainers who could start them under saddle.

Bruce Logan, a trainer in Loving, TX received 28 horses including Catch and Kyle. Bruce put in 90 days of training on each horse while the HSUS facilitated placement of these newly started horses into GFAS accredited rescues that would adopt them out to safe homes.

Catch and Kyle are three years old and have potential to be great trail or performance horses but will need some additional time under saddle with a trainer. In the meantime, both horses are being well taken care of by CHR.

Both horses will be available for adoption from CHR in the near future. or by calling 720-494-1414.
