Storms are not expected to be severe, but lightning is likely. Also, winds along the Foothills and Front Range will be active through Saturday afternoon. Rain activity should diminish Saturday night as skies clear.

A mix of rain and snow is in the forecast for Front Range mountains and cities like Estes Park, Idaho Springs, Nederland and Rollinsville. Accumulations between 3 to 8 inches are likely through Saturday afternoon.

The snow line is expected to drop from timberline to 8,000 feet. Wind gusts within this warning area are expected to reach up to 40 mph and cause difficult travel conditions with slushy roads.

Most of the snow on Saturday is likely to be along or north of Interstate 70 west of the Divide. The rain and snow activity across Colorado is expected to diminish overnight as skies clear.

Drier and warmer weather returns for most of the upcoming week with temperatures in the 70s.
