Colorado weather forecast: Cooler temperatures, strong winds sweep through Colorado

Winds on Thursday for Denver are expected to be sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph under sunny skies. Elsewhere, stronger winds will prompt weather advisories.

A HIGH WIND WARNING will be in effect on Thursday from 9 am until 6 pm for counties in Northeast Colorado like Logan, Phillips, Sedgwick, and Washington for potential gusts up to 60 mph.

A RED FLAG WARNING  will be in effect on Thursday from noon until 6 pm for parts of the Foothills, Front Range, and Plains with the exception of the Metro area. Relative humidity will drop as low as 13 percent with potential gusts up to 45 mph.

Warming temperatures and lighter winds can be expected from Friday into Sunday, with only a slight chance for showers in the high country for Sunday and the beginning of next week.
