It found minimum wage and record-keeping violations at 16 locations in the Denver metro area. The investigation also found child labor violations.
Officials say the employers endangered the safety of minors by employing them to perform hazardous work.
Tuesday evening the owner of the restaurants, Tony Boselli, said in a statement, "Operating restaurants with a good work environment for employees is a top priority for my organization. We take these matters seriously. We have taken appropriate action to address these concerns. It is the policy of my organization to follow all pertinent labor laws and I expect my management to comply with those employment standards."
Boselli Investments owns and operates seven McDonald's restaurants in Thornton, four in Westminster, two in Federal Heights and one each in Arvada, Commerce City and Northglenn.
