KUSA - The historic walls of the Denver Athletic Club will be filled with the sound of racquetball this weekend as the top players in the world, including Kane Waselenchuk, Rocky Carson, Ben Croft, Jose Rojas, and Colorado pros Tony Carson and Anthony Herrera battle for dominance in the world's fastest sport.
Tony and local high school phenomenon Adam Manilla (ranked #6 in the state) stopped by 9News to talk about the tournament. To see the interview use the video player above this article.
As a full Tier 1 stop on the Men's IRT Professional Racquetball Circuit with a $17,500 prize; a USAR/CRA-sanctioned tournament with men's and women's amateur singles and doubles; and onsite clinics led by pros, the Mile High Racquetball Pro/Am will boast the greatest concentration of the highest level international players to play in Denver in years.
The event is also open to amateurs and free for anyone to watch.
This year, the Mile High Racquetball Pro/Am Tournament will help support two non-profit organizations - the Military Racquetball Federation and the Wounded Warrior Project.
