GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - The body of a woman recovered from the Colorado River at the Grand Canyon National Park has been identified as that of 21-year-old Kaitlin Kenney of Englewood.

Kenney was last seen on the evening of Friday, January 11, at a river camp at the Grand Canyon.

Linnea Kenney, the woman's mother, told 9NEWS in January that her daughter accidentally fell into the frigid cold water.

Helicopter and ground crews searched the Tapeats and Deer Creek drainages, Surprise Valley and along the river for two days after she was reported missing.

Her body was spotted by People on a private river trip in the water near Tuckup Canyon on March, 21.

The National Park Service is continuing its investigation into Kenney's death in coordination with the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office.
