KUSA - The April storm dropping much-needed snow in Colorado is creating messy conditions for drivers.

Northbound Interstate 25 from Wellington to the Wyoming border was closed because of adverse weather conditions. Both directions of Highway 287 in Laramie County is closed as well.

Some highways are also closed in Wyoming.

9NEWS viewer Scott Kilian shot video of northbound I-25 near Cheyenne showing a line of semitrailers stuck in traffic.

The Colorado Department of Transportation says westbound Interstate 70 at Copper Mountain was closed after multiple crashes Wednesday afternoon. It reopened just after 4 p.m.

The weather is delaying flights out of Denver International Airport. The snow has also postponed Wednesday's baseball game between the Colorado Rockies and New York Mets.

It's been snowing off and on in parts of Wyoming and Colorado for three days, but the storm is expected to start heading east Wednesday evening.

Snowpack levels have usually peaked by this time, but the critical Colorado Basin has grown to 85 percent of the average peak amount after a relatively dry winter.
