KUSA - Heavy snow slammed Northern Colorado with this May snowstorm with around a foot of accumulation in the Fort Collins-Loveland areas.  Metro Denver has had several inches of snow and wet roads.

Snow has now moved out of the state with heavy snow and heavy rain threatening the midwest.

Snow is not unusual in May with a monthly average of 1.7 inches in the Denver area using snow records dating back to 1882.

Here are some of the SNOW REPORTS we have received so far.

Temperatures dropped into the low 20s Thursday morning, bringing a hard freeze to much of the Front Range.  The record low for May 2nd of 22 degrees last set in 1954.

Once the storm system moves out, Colorado will gradually warm up again with highs in the low 60s by the weekend.
