Armed robbery leads to high-speed chase

THORNTON - A driver took multiple police departments on a high-speed chase after allegedly robbing a Burger King in Thornton.

Thornton Police were dispatched to a report of an armed robbery at the Burger King in the 300 block of West 84th Avenue early Friday morning.

Officers saw a red, two-door vehicle matching the suspect description leaving the location.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver eluded the officers. The vehicle was chased from Thornton to the 16100 block of Green Valley Ranch Boulevard in Denver. Police were able to disable the vehicle at that location. The driver was taken into custody, and the passenger then fled on foot. 

The driver was identified as 22-year-old Ricardo Castro.  The occupant of the suspect vehicle was identified but was not taken into custody at this point in the investigation. No injuries were sustained throughout the incident.
