DENVER - Its wooden, white roller coaster and Deco signs have become a cultural icon in Denver for more than a century.

Since 1908, Lakeside Amusement Park has continued to bring in excited patrons looking for some summer fun.

The family-owned amusement park on Sheridan Boulevard was originally called White City, but underwent a name change a decade later. One of its more notable rides is The Cyclone rollercoaster, which was built in 1940.

Photojournalist Corky Scholl visited the park on Saturday.
