KUSA - The Royal Gorge Fire last month came so close to the landmark bridge that several of the buildings around it were lost to the flames.
Six weeks later, the demolition work continues at the site. Tuesday, cameras were allowed in for the closest look yet at what made it through the fire and what didn't.
Only employees and cleanup crews have been allowed in the area because of safety concerns. About 75 percent of the damaged buildings have been removed and that work is going on seven days a week
Park managers say they may be able to allow bridge-only access to visitors in the next few weeks.
