SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A series of wildfires that have destroyed more than a dozen homes in Utah didn't stop one couple from tying the knot over the weekend at a century-old church within view of the burned mountainside about 45 miles east of Salt Lake City.
Tawni Sprouce and Travis Mann originally planned to exchange their vows at her parents' Rockport Estates home overlooking Rockport Reservoir.
But theirs' was among more than 100 ordered evacuated this week after a lightning-sparked fire burned nearly 2,000 acres.
The Summit County couple first moved the wedding to a campsite at Rockport State Park south of I-80 near Waneship. Rain pushed it inside the Old Church. But Mann says that given the circumstances, they welcomed the rain and the ceremony finally went off Saturday without a hitch.
