DENVER - 9Wants to Know has obtained documents revealing suspected active shooter Daniel Abeyta was fired from his city job for using a solid waste transfer station and garbage trailer for personal use.

A city termination letter indicates Abeyta was caught on camera, along with other private vehicles, unloading roofing material at the Cherry Creek Transfer Station in May of this year.

So much material was loaded into a city garbage trailer, according to the termination letter, the tires popped, resulting in $1,000 in damage.

Abeyta was subsequently fired in June from his solid waste job. He made about $42,000 a year as a heavy equipment operator.

Abeyta is accused of shooting his wife in the legs with a shotgun and then fatally shooting neighbor Sandy Roskilley on Friday.
