DENVER - More than 500,000 very-hungry people attended the 30th Annual A Taste of Colorado Labor Day weekend in Civic Park.
Vendors went through 70,000 ribs at A Taste of Colorado this weekend.
Ribs weren't the only hot commodity throughout the weekend.
Festival goers ate nearly 2,830 pounds of strawberries. That's like eating an elephant's weight in strawberries.
Cheese was also a big hit! About 3,505 pounds of cheese has been sold. You could build an adult giraffe with that amount of cheddar.
Here's a list of the rest of the 'festimates' consumed this weekend:
- 4,100 gallons of BBQ sauce
- 260,00 mini-marshmallows
- 9,777,000 kernels of corn
- 15,700 ounces of shrimps. This is about 981 pounds.
- 124,700 tomato slices
- 28,500 slices of pickles
- 39,040,000 grains of rice
- 70,000 potato wedges
- 10,500 sausages
The festival wraps up Monday night with more food, family fun and entertainment.
