KUSA - The domestic violence charge against Denver Nuggets guard Ty Lawson was dismissed Tuesday in Arapahoe County court.

Lawson and his girlfriend were arrested Aug. 17 after a dispute. Charges against Ashley Nicole Pettiford also have been dismissed. Lawson was charged with harassment (strike, shove, kick) and criminal mischief. Both were dismissed Tuesday.

"Based on our continued investigation and developments after the filing of the cases, we dismissed the cases in the interest of justice," Arapahoe County DA spokesperson Lisa Pinto said Tuesday.

The case stemmed from an argument in which Lawson and Pettiford were accused of yelling and damaging each other's cell phones.
