DENVER - A man trapped under debris after a wall collapse during a demolition project was rescued by Denver fire crews Thursday afternoon.
It happened on the second floor of the old Byers Junior High School at 150 S. Pearl St.
Crews were attempting to demolish a wall when the collapse occurred. The victim is a subcontractor with Swinerton Builders.
Firefighters used electric saws to get the man out.
The victim appeared to have only suffered minor injuries. He gave the thumps up when he was loaded into an ambulance.
Crews have been renovating the old school building, which closed in 2004. It is being renovated into a new charter school.
