KUSA - The state reported that it is making progress recovering from last month's deadly floods.

Governor Hickenlooper toured damaged areas in Clear Creek and Jefferson counties Friday.

During his tour, Hickenlooper announced a portion of U.S. Highway 34 between Estes Park and Drake will reopen Sunday.

He added the Colorado Department of Transportation is on pace to have all damaged roads open by Dec. 1. This is the deadline the governor asked for.

In an effort to repair water treatment plants, Hickenlooper also announced $2 million in grants on Friday.

The grants will help pay the local share of the cost.

FEMA will be paying for roughly 75 percent of the damage to infrastructure.
