ERIE - Erie Police are investigating an incident that occurred early Monday morning at a school bus stop located at Sunset Drive and Blue Sky Circle in the Vista Ridge neighborhood.

A high school student says she was waiting alone for the school bus when a pickup truck approached the stop and pulled over.

The male driver asked the female if she needed a ride to school since it was cold. The student declined. The driver then proceeded to tell her that he had hot chocolate and candy in the vehicle. The female decline again. Another vehicle entered the area from the east and the driver drove off east bound.

Police are now searching for the driver. He is described as a white male, in his late 30's, with a medium build and a short haircut. He had a patch of facial hair on his chin.

The vehicle is described as a newer model, white, full size pickup with four doors and an extended cab. The truck did not have any stickers, but it made a lot of black smoke when it drove away, which lead police to believe the truck may be a diesel truck.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Erie Police Department 303-926-2835. Those who have information but wish to remain anonymous can contact Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Those submitting tips through Crime Stoppers that lead to an arrest and filing of charges may be eligible for a cash reward.
