RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - Hisham Fageeh did not mean to become an overnight sensation when it came to political activism.

He made a parody video called "No Woman, No Drive" - a play on the Bob Marley classic "No Woman, No Cry" - which has now gone viral, receiving nearly 8 million views on YouTube since it was posted on Saturday.

He posted the video to mock Saudi Arabia's restriction on women being allowed to drive. Fageeh has said his main goal was to entertain viewers, and he didn't have a political agenda.

Saudi officials say the country's strict codes against political dissent on the Internet would be applied to anyone offering online support for the protest by women challenging the male-only driving rules in the ultraconservative kingdom. Conviction can bring up to five-year prison sentences.

The warning widened the possible fallout from the Saturday's campaign by Saudi women to get behind the wheel in defiance of Saudi traditions. The Internet was a key tool in organizing the protest and reaching out to media.

Though no specific law bans women from driving, the rules are enforced by Saudi Arabia's powerful Islamic establishment.
