AURORA - Aurora Police issued a "Medina Alert" Sunday night for a tan or beige Chrysler or Dodge minivan that may have front-end or undercarriage damage after a woman's body was found in the road near East Fourth Way and Kenton Street.
It is not known if the minivan was involved in the accident, but police say they would like to talk to the driver.
Police have not found any witnesses to the crash, but the people who found the woman's body told police around 10:20 p.m. they saw a tan or beige Chrysler or Dodge minivan stopped and running just south of where the body was located.
According to police, the woman's body was found in the road near the intersection around 10:20 p.m. Sunday. The woman was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police are asking anyone with information about this crash is asked to call the Aurora Public Safety Communications Department at 303-627-3100.
The name of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office after the woman's family has been notified.
On Nov. 19, the City of Aurora announced they joined the Medina Alert program.
The program was started by the Denver Police Department and is named after 21-year-old Jose Medina, who was killed by a hit-and-run outside the Rockstar Lounge in Denver in January 2011.
