USA TODAY - What's worth watching, and what might not be, in prime time on Monday.
Almost Human | Fox, 8 ET/PT
Shades of Breaking Bad, as one of Kennex's (Karl Urban) old cop friends tries to infiltrate a drug ring by pretending to cook the latest street drug, "The Bends." When things go south, Kennex turns to the squad's robot-expert Rudy, played by one of the show's most entertaining actors, Mackenzie Crook (best known for the Pirates of the Caribbean films). No word on whether Rudy can help Kennex, but odds are good Crook can help the show.
CMA Country Christmas | ABC, 9 ET/PT
Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles hosts this special, which promises Christmas classics and holiday memories from its gathered country performers. Among those doing the caroling are Trace Adkins, Luke Bryan, Mary J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Lucy Hale, Lady Antebellum, Kellie Pickler and Rascal Flatts.
Mom | CBS, 9:30 ET/PT
There seems to be a lot of shared loyalty between producer Chuck Lorre and actors he enjoys working with - as witness Mimi Kennedy, the terrific comic actor who starred in Lorre's Dharma & Greg and returns as Marjorie in his latest sitcom, Mom. Tonight, she leads the show through another one of its serious turns as Marjorie reveals that she's battling breast cancer. There are still jokes - some of them crude, in what has become the CBS Monday fashion. But overall the mix works, thanks in large part to Kennedy and Allison Janney, who carry the drama and the comedy with ease.
