EVERGREEN - When wind blew out a transformer at King Murphy Elementary School in Evergreen, something malfunctioned around noon.
According to the Clear Creek Schools Superintendent Todd Lancaster, a small fire broke out in the mechanical room. It went out on its own.
The smoke smell might stay in the building, Lancaster said, but there is no permanent damage.
The staff was able to evacuate everyone safely, and no one was injured. Three buses transported students to Clear Creek Middle School and Clear Creek High School.
School will be back in session on Tuesday.
