KUSA- After more than a decade Longmont Police say they're arrested the man responsible for a 1999 murder.

Abel Lujan was arrested Wednesday morning on a warrant for first degree murder. He's already serving a four-year sentence in the Colorado Department of Corrections at the Sterling Correctional Facility in Sterling, CO on an unrelated case.

The Boulder County District Attorney's Office and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office will arrange his transfer to the Boulder County Jail.

On April 22, 1999, 30-year-old Bernadette (Bernie) Frost's body was found several blocks away from her home outside of an apartment complex at 1303 Coffman St.

Frost and Lujan lived together at the time of the murder and were involved in an intimate relationship.

This is the third cold case homicide investigation resulting in an arrest by the Longmont Police Department and the Boulder County District Attorney's Office in the last five years.
