KUSA - Researchers say the number of stroke deaths has dropped significantly in all demographic groups.
Improvements in treatments and prevention are credited for the decrease in stroke deaths over the past few decades. That includes public health efforts to control high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.
Stroke deaths have gone from the third to the fourth leading cause of death.
However, there are still racial and geographical disparities when it comes to stroke risks.
