KUSA - Doctors are announcing big wins in the battle against blood cancers.
An experimental treatment, gene therapy, is having high success rates in tests on more than 120 patients with various types of leukemia, lymphoma and other blood and bone marrow cancers.
It involves altering a patient's white blood cells with a gene that attacks cancer.
In one study, all five adults and 19 out of 22 children, have gone into complete remission. Few have relapsed.
