The Great Christmas Light Fight
ABC, 9 ET/PT
ABC is taking your neighborhood house-decorating competition national with this short-run reality contest, as 20 families from around the country fight for a $50,000 weekly prize. As for any slight hope you might have that good taste - or simply avoiding driving your neighbors nuts - will be part of the judging criteria, consider that the contenders were chosen for their previous "over-the-top designs," which settles that. Anyway, some of them will undoubtedly be entertaining to see and many of us will be thankful that we're seeing them on TV, rather than through our bedroom windows as we're trying to sleep. Ho, ho ho.
Mike & Molly
CBS, 9 ET/PT
The goal this season on Mike & Molly has been to set Melissa McCarthy loose and let Molly - who was once, generally, the family voice of reason - go a bit wild. Tonight, that involves trapping her in a plot that sounds so tired even I Love Lucy might have blanched: The wife who drives her husband crazy by spending too much on shoes. We'll just have to hope it plays better than it sounds.
Fox, 9 ET/PT
The fabulous John Noble is back on Sleepy Hollow, which, even without him, has turned into one of the new season's most entertaining hours. With him, it can only be even better. Tonight, they fight The Golem - a more familiar character for many of us than the Hollow norm.
