DENVER - 9Wants to Know has learned Monday afternoon that Aron Ralston had his case dismissed in court.

Court documents show Ralston and his girlfriend Vita Shannon both accused each other of domestic violence.

Vita Shannon's has pleaded not guilty to her charges.  Another charge of disturbing the peace was added to her case.

Documents say a dispute between the two occurred at Shannon's apartment near downtown Denver on Saturday night.

According to the probable cause affidavit, "... [Ralston] was struck twice in the back of the head with fists by [Shannon] ensuing an argument they had regarding the victim's other son."

Shannon also accuses Ralston of getting physical. She told police Ralston "shoved her on the shoulder," according to the affidavit.

"I'm confident that Aron didn't hit or strike anyone," Larry Ralston, Aron's father, told 9NEWS. "I'm hopeful this can be resolved as soon as possible."

The argument, according to police records, occurred near the couple's 8-week-old child.

"Both he and Vita have the greatest love for their infant daughter," Larry said.

Ralston made headlines when he amputated his own arm 10 years ago in Utah while trapped by a boulder.

Shannon and Ralston were booked into jail over the weekend and are expected to appear in court on Monday.
