GLEN HAVEN - She describes herself as "broken." A homeowner in Glen Haven who survived the September flooding now has a new weather-related problem.
Pat Karspeck drove up to her cabin on Saturday to meet with a FEMA representative. When she arrived, she found five large blue spruce trees had blown down on the house sometime over the last several days.
"To my horror, I saw those trees," Karspeck said.
Karspeck says the trees helped keep debris away from the house during the flooding, although she still experienced significant damage to the structure. Now those trees are creating a major problem of their own.
The bridge that led to her home was destroyed by water. She thinks FEMA assistance can help her enough so she can rebuild the bridge, but she's not sure what to do after that.
She's hoping someone might volunteer to help her get the trees off the house.
"It's just too much. I just don't - I don't know where to take the first step," Karspeck said.
