ELIZABETH - The lockout has been lifted for several Elizabeth School District C-1 schools after Elbert County authorities located the man who prompted the five-hour lockout.

The lockout, which went into effect at 9 a.m., affected Elizabeth Middle School, Elizabeth High School, Frontier High School, Running Creek Elementary School and Legacy Academy. A heightened alert for Singing Hills Elementary has also been lifted.

The district says all bus routes will run normally, and while there will be an increased police presence through the afternoon, all after-school and evening activities will remain on schedule.

During the lockout, all classes went on as normal, but the buildings were locked.

Elizabeth Police and Elbert County Sheriff's officials were looking for a possibly-armed man they said may be "harmful to himself." But he was located Tuesday afternoon, and the lockout was lifted.
