CHERRY HILLS - Peter Tebow, brother to former-Denver Bronco quarterback Tim Tebow, was arrested in 2011 for DUI, a charge that was eventually dismissed.
According to court records, Peter Tebow was arrested on June 10, 2011 by Cherry Hills Police. The original charges were speeding 20 to 24 mph over the limit, reckless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol.
The DUI charge was eventually dismissed.
According to a report by the Cherry Hills Police Department, Tebow was driving 90 mph in a 45 mph speed zone on East Hampden Avenue. The officer followed Tebow's car into a gated neighborhood and pulled him over at 2:50 a.m.
The officer wrote, "As I was talking to him, I observed that his eyes were bloodshot and watery, his speech was slurred and mumbled and his pupils were enlarged."
According to the report, Tebow admitted to taking Percocet that day, two pills in the morning and the afternoon.
Tebow refused roadside tests and a blood alcohol test according to the report.
The arrest occurred during the height of his brother Tim's Bronco career. Cherry Hills Village Police Chief Michelle Tovrea says no preferential treatment was given to Tebow during his arrest.
The older Tebow last made news following the Bronco's end-of-season loss to the Baltimore Ravens last January when he tweeted his delight with the loss.
The tweet, "Am I the only one in Denver who's happy right now?" Well, the Ravens are probably celebrating, but you get the point."
He then retweeted another fan who tweeted, "That's karma, Elway."
According to Peter Tebow's Twitter feed, he got engaged this summer.
