KUSA - Matt Prater joins the list of Denver Broncos who have been recognized this season on a weekly basis, and the Broncos kicker was named the AFC special teams player of the week on Wednesday.
Prater kicked an NFL-record 64-yard field goal to end the first half Sunday against Tennessee. He also made field goals Sunday from 25 and 19 yards and had six PAT kicks in the 51-28 win against the Titans.
It is the fifth time in his career Prater has won the AFC weekly award. The Broncos have earned seven player of the week honors.
Quarterback Peyton Manning was honored in Weeks 1 and 3; wide receivers Trindon Holliday (Week 2), Demaryius Thomas (Week 10) and Eric Decker (Week 13); and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie (Week 8).
