ARAPAHOE COUNTY - Grayson Robinson, who took over the Arapahoe County Sheriff position when Patrick Sullivan retired, announced his own retirement Thursday morning.
His announcement letter read: "After more than 42 years of dedicated public safety service and with deliberate consideration, I have decided to retire from my office as Arapahoe County Sheriff. My retirement from the Office of Sheriff will be effective at 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2014."

Robinson requested in the letter that David C. Walcher serve as Interim Arapahoe County Sheriff until a replacement is chosen by the Board of County Commissioners.
